Managing Member Points

Overview

The “Member Points” Dashboard within Gamification is used to quickly and easily manage the various point-earning actions that are being performed by members across your community at any given time.

Filters

A moderator can apply a set of filters to “Member Points” to quickly find and manage a variety of point-earning actions.

Statuses

A moderator can filter based on the different statuses for point-earning actions.

  • Pending – Pending actions are point-earning actions that are currently within the review period and must be reviewed.  Pending actions will automatically convert to the “Complete” status, unless there is a denial of those points.  Points with the “Pending Status” cannot be used by members to redeem a reward until they become “Complete”.
  • Complete – Complete actions are point-earning actions where the review period has elapsed and no action was taken.  Points with the “Complete” status can be used by members to redeem a reward.
  • Denied – Denied actions are point-earning actions that were denied for low quality or for failing to meet submission standards during the review period.  Points with the “Denied” status cannot be used by members to redeem a reward.
Filter Default

This filter will default to the “Pending” status, allowing a moderator to quickly identify which point-earning actions need to be reviewed for eligibility.

Date Range

A moderator can filter based on a start date and end date, and the report will only display those point-earning actions that have been performed by members within that date range.

Member Points Dashboard Columns

The Member Points dashboard provides the following columns for helping you manage your point-earning actions:

  • ID – this is a unique identifier for the specific point-earning action that you are reviewing.  This unique ID is referenced whenever there is an adjustment to an original transaction.
  • Name – this is the name of the point-earning action.  Each ‘Name’ is a clickable link which provides more in-depth detail about the action.
  • Activity – this is the original activity where the member performed their point-earning action.
  • Username – this is the member that performed the point-earning action.  Each ‘Username’ is a clickable link which will take you to the member’s profile.
  • Date – this is when the point-earning action was originally performed by the member.
  • Point(s) – this is the amount of points that were earned or used for redemption.
  • Status – this is the status of the point-earning action.
  • Action – this is where a moderator user can perform certain actions to adjust, reverse or manage a point-earning action:
    • Deduct added points – a moderator can create an adjustment to an action that is “Complete”.  An overlay will display, which allows you to reverse the points that was awarded to the member.  A moderator will need to provide a reasoning, which will be visible to the member on their points history page.  Deducting added points creates a new line item on the member’s point history page.
    • Deny points – a moderator can deny points on an action that is in the “Pending” status.  An overlay will display, which allows you to provide a reasoning for denying points that will display to the member on their points history page.  Denying points on an action that is “Pending” will automatically convert that action to the “Denied” status.
    • Manage – a moderator can manage a member’s reward redemption.  Clicking ‘Manage’ will take the user to the specific reward catalog item indicated, where you can change the status of the reward.
